DUET and ESCHER
Escher - 838 Broughton Street:
The development site for this project was acquired by the Chard Group in 2013. Construction began early 2015 on the proposed 84-unit, 10-storey, 72,000 sq.ft. concrete residential live/work building, which represents Chard's continued commitment to the rejuvenation of Victoria's downtown core, encouraging residents to live, work and play downtown. This mixed-use building will incorporate a number of sustainable features including high-efficiency low-E glass windows in each suite, maximizing fresh air comfort in summer and reducing energy costs in winter.
Duet - 640 Michigan Street:
This 80,000 sq.ft. prime residential development is located in Victoria's James Bay neighbourhood within blocks of the provincial legislature and downtown business district. This 90-unit residential development consists of an 8-storey, 62-unit building plus a 4-storey, 28-unit building constructed over shared below-grade parking with a central landscaped courtyard. Sustainable features include large, low-E glass windows in each suite, energy-efficient boilers and LED fluorescent lighting throughout all public areas of the building.
