Steveston Fire Hall #2
This new construction project on a 33,000 sq.ft. site area is a Fire Hall for the City of Richmond. Targeting LEED Gold, this 8,000 sq.ft. 2-bay, drive-through facility is built to post-disaster standards and comprises three main spaces: the fire hall, fire engine bays and a 3-storey hose drying tower.
The firehall contains a day room, kitchen, eating area, offices and training room on the ground floor, with the dormitory, lounge and fitness room on the second floor. The fire engine bay has space for two fire trucks plus a turn out gear room, workshop, equipment repair room and mechanical rooms.
Multiple high efficiency mechanical systems incorporated into this modern facility include; a geo-exchange field, solar domestic water pre-heat, ground source heat pumps, water-to-water heat pump serving the in-floor radiant heating and heat recovery with a full digital HVAC controls system.
