Under the Provincial Homelessness Initiative, this LEED Gold Certified BC Housing project is an 11-storey mixed-use development containing 147 units of supportive non-market housing plus amenity and office use at the ground level. Tenants range from minimal to high support and this safe, secure and clean housing enhances resident's quality of life enabling them to participate more fully in the community.
Located on West 2nd Avenue, the property is connected to the local Neighbourhood Energy Utility (NEU) for heating and domestic hot water loads. The low energy design of the building maximizes energy savings, resulting in all 10 LEED Energy Credits. The building uses the following approaches to sustainability: storm water management, green roof, solar hot water panels, water use reduction for all household fixtures, urban agriculture, low emitting materials, construction waste management and False Creek district heating system connection (Neighbourhood Energy Utility).
