The impressive Anvil Civic Centre complex includes 18,000 sq.ft. of conference and meeting space, a 350-seat theatre with retractable seating system, configurable multi-purpose rooms and studios, plus
a civic art gallery and gift shop. It is also home to the City’s Museum and Archives, a high-tech New Media Gallery, the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, plus a range of community-based programs, public amenities, and retail. It also features three levels (270 stalls) of underground parking.
The multi-storey atrium lobby connects the Civic Centre’s 4 floors, allowing users entering the building to view first-hand the diversity of activities on all levels. It also functions as a means of passive ventilation, one of a number of strategies that have reduced energy consumption by 18% below baseline conditions.
Above the 4-storey civic podium is a 9-storey office tower comprising of first-class office space and similarly designed to LEED Gold standards for energy efficiency and environmentally sustainable design.
