Bridlewood Affordable Housing, a 62-unit complex, comprises a mix of two and four-bedroom townhomes, designed to cater to diverse family needs and cultural preferences. The project’s design philosophy was deeply rooted in community integration, with a focus on creating open connections between the housing complex and the neighbouring municipal reserve.
Our Building Performance Team was instrumental in achieving the project’s ambitious energy efficiency goals, surpassing NECB 2017 standards by 26% for the majority of the buildings and by a remarkable 40% for one particular structure. This was accomplished through a synergistic collaboration with the design team, formulating the most effective strategies.
The project demanded an intricate value engineering process to harmonize the client’s aspirations with their budget. Through innovative approaches to mechanical systems and strategic enhancements to building components, we were able to maintain design integrity whilst promoting a sense of community among residents.
