PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

The Brighouse No.1 Fire Hall is a state-of-the-art facility in Richmond, BC that serves as the headquarters of Richmond’s civic precinct by Minoru Park. This facility, which was completed in Spring 2018, replaced the previous No.1 Fire Hall located at the junction of Gilbert and Granville.

The project saw the replacement of a pre-existing 17,000 sq.ft. facility with an upgraded, energy-efficient structure. In a bid to provide low-carbon heating and cooling to the building, air-source heat pumps were utilized. For effective ventilation, heat recovery ventilators (HRV) were employed. These features not only underscore the building’s modern design but also its commitment to environmental sustainability.

Spanning approximately 25,000 sq.ft., this new LEED Gold certified building features four apparatus bays and houses the administrative offices of Richmond Fire Rescue. The fire hall has been designed to meet post-disaster standards so it can remain operable even after a seismic event.
