AME provided commissioning and aquatic commissioning services for multiple zoological exhibit projects, including otter, polar bear, penguin, rainforest aviary, and tapir habitats. Each project involved specialized systems designed to maintain water quality, habitat conditions, and operational reliability for animal care environments. Coordination across technical systems, contractors, and facility teams was required to bring complex exhibit environments into operation.
The mechanical and aquatic scope included start-up, testing, and commissioning of ozone systems, filtration systems with automatic backwash, level control systems, chemical feed systems, trickle filters, biofilters, fractionators, and refrigeration systems. Project-specific solutions addressed unique conditions, including pre-treatment for aviary water systems and coordination of dual waterfall features within otter habitats. Integration of stand-alone building management systems required collaboration with manufacturers and project teams to align with overall facility operations.
Staff training and detailed procedures were developed for each project to support system operation and maintenance, including manual operation, maintenance requirements, and system sequencing. The commissioning process supported reliable performance across aquatic and mechanical systems while addressing habitat-specific requirements and long-term operational needs.
