Project Details

Canuck Place Dave Lede House in Abbotsford, BC, is purpose-built for children and teenagers with progressive life-threatening illnesses, to provide specialized care and support and to help their families cope with medical and emotional challenges.

Located on a 1.5-acre site adjacent to Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre, the hospice for Canuck Place forms part of a 3-facility Campus of Care alongside the Abbotsford Hospice Society’s Holmberg House and Matthew’s House operated by Communitas Supportive Care Society.

The project includes underground parking that connects to all three buildings. Common amenities at this warm and welcoming hospice facility include; lounge, dining, kitchen, activity games room, and play therapy area are located on the main floor, 10 children’s bedrooms, medical support and therapy programs on the second level, and five family suites on the upper floor – doubling the province’s pediatric palliative care beds.
