AME provided mechanical design services for this K–12 school in Calgary, supporting diverse programming that includes daycare, ECS, gymnasiums, high school science labs, and specialized CTS spaces. The mechanical scope addressed the full range of user groups through targeted system solutions for each area.
The science lab features fume hoods, acid waste handling, and natural gas turrets. CTS spaces include a woodworking shop with a dust collection system and gas-fired makeup air, a welding shop with fume extraction and compliant gas storage, and an auto repair shop with vehicle exhaust extraction. A commercial kitchen serves students and meets NFPA standards, with residential-grade stations to support culinary education.
The mechanical system combines three AHUs and a hydronic heating network that feeds perimeter radiators, radiant panels, and AHU coils. Systems were designed to align with LEED targets and support sustainable building operations. The project was completed ahead of schedule.
