Kerrisdale Urban Residences is a four-unit residential infill development delivered through a design-build approach with the intent of achieving Passive House certification. The project was designed to meet Passive House standards, prioritizing high-performance building envelope principles and reduced energy demand.
AME provided mechanical design for the full HVAC systems, incorporating Passive House-rated ventilation units, one per suite, to support continuous, balanced ventilation and indoor air quality. Suite-level systems were selected to align with the project’s performance goals and to complement the envelope-first design strategy.
The result is a compact, high-performance residential development that demonstrates how low-rise infill housing can be delivered to rigorous energy standards through integrated mechanical design and construction collaboration.
