Mahogany Village Commons is a multi-phase commercial retail development in Calgary, AB, and serves as the centerpiece of the community’s Urban Village. Developed by Hopewell, this vibrant district combines standalone buildings and multi-tenant retail units, offering a dynamic mix of shops, services, and amenities.
AME contributed mechanical design for 26 buildings across two phases, with 17 completed in Phase 1 and nine more in Phase 2. Buildings range from 4,300 to 64,000 square feet and house tenants like Sobeys, Shoppers Drug Mart, ATB Financial, and Tim Hortons, along with businesses such as daycare facilities and restaurants with commercial kitchens. Tenant improvements included mechanical designs for Sobeys in Phase 1 and specialized spaces in Phase 2, like restaurant kitchens and a chiropractic clinic.
Mechanical systems were designed for adaptability and efficiency to meet diverse tenant needs. Rooftop units provide heating and cooling, with provisions for future connections, so buildings can evolve with tenant requirements.
Phased construction allowed for smooth execution and timely delivery. Phase 2 was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. Today, Mahogany Village Commons offers over 205,000 square feet of retail space, serving as a bustling hub for the community.
