PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

This project involved a comprehensive retrofit of an existing pool system, with a focus on upgrading critical mechanical infrastructure within the constraints of the existing facility. A new supply piping system was integrated into the pool structure to improve performance and reliability.

Fraser Health approved a modified three-sided gutter system proposed by AME, avoiding the need to retrofit the south end of the pool with a fourth gutter. This approach helped control costs and maintain project timelines.

The design and installation of a new filtration plant presented spatial challenges, which were addressed through detailed site investigations and Revit modelling. This process confirmed equipment fit within the existing mechanical room and optimised the layout for long-term functionality.

In addition to the mechanical upgrades, the project also included the introduction of one of the first all-gender change rooms in the country, reflecting the City of Port Coquitlam’s commitment to inclusivity and community accessibility.
