Located in Langley, adjacent to R.E. Mountain Middle School, the school covers 160,000 sq.ft., accommodating 1,700 students. With its three-story design, the floor plans were designed to make the most of natural light and ventilation.
Designed to LEED Gold standard, the mechanical systems were designed to maximize energy efficiency and sustainable principles. The central plant includes heat recovery air source heat pumps with backup condensing gas fired boilers to provide energy efficiency, resiliency, and low energy costs.
As a flagship educational facility for Langley School District, the school embodies an innovative, community-focused learning hub. With both a commercial kitchen and chemistry laboratories, our scope of work included specialty plumbing and mechanical systems.
To alleviate local enrollment pressures, this project had an accelerated schedule. Despite the challenges, the project team delivered in just nine months from concept design to tender, followed by two years of construction.
