The pool was divided into 4 zones based on the existing duct distribution. The two lower zones provided all of the facilities ventilation which improved indoor air quality. A coil was installed in the exhaust air stream to extract the heat from the coil before relieving to the outdoors. The upper two zones already had fairly new units installed a few years earlier. AME added a dehumidification coil to the existing unit. During unoccupied times the coil will modulate to extract the moisture from the air stream before returning it back to the space. The exhaust air and dehumidification coils have chilled water pumped through the devices. This water then passes through a bank of water to water heat pumps which transfer’s the energy into the building heating plant.
