Project Details

The iconic, multi-angled University of British Columbia (UBC) Aquatic Centre is a new, LEED Gold Certified facility located at the heart of UBC’s Point Grey campus in Vancouver, adjacent to the new Student Union Building (SUB) and the central Transit Plaza, the daily arrival and departure point for up to half of the 50,000 students at this campus.

This award-winning aquatic centre features a 10-lane, 50-metre Olympic-size competition pool with a moveable bulkhead, a 25-metre 8-lane recreational lap pool, a 3,700 sq.ft. shallow family leisure pool with warm water, lazy river loop and play features, and a 34-person hot tub – the first of its kind in BC to be fitted with an aquatic elevator making it accessible to seniors and the mobility impaired. Additional amenities include a sauna, change rooms, concession kiosk, multi-purpose rooms and wet classrooms to meet the needs of students, faculty, and the community.
