PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

TRIUMF is Canada’s national laboratory for particle and nuclear physics and accelerator-based science.

The Institute of Advanced Medical Isotopes (IAMI) will be TRIUMF’s flagship nuclear medicine facility, expanding Canada’s capability to produce and study isotopes for physics and medicine.

The new facility will include Hot + Cold and Quality Assurance Laboratory spaces, offices and mechanical spaces including Nuclear Ventilation HVAC.

AME provided full mechanical design for a Class II Nuclear facility certified by CNSC. In addition to this, the production of the medical isotope has been designed to CGMP facility standards.

The design involved various specialized systems ranging from nuclear filtration system (to decay radioactive gas systems) and multiple tiers of redundancy for safety and operational purposes.
