Project Details
The new state-of-the-art 2-storey hospital wing expansion built at Whitehorse General Hospital (WGH) was a design-build partnership agreement with the Yukon Hospital Corporation (YHC) and funded by the Government of Yukon for a new 43,000 sq.ft. 2-storey addition to the existing facility.
As mechanical consultant on the project, AME’s scope of work includes upgrades of the building’s mechanical systems to support the expansion. In addition, the expansion features a new emergency department and shelled second-floor space for future use – all designed to better deliver care and meet today’s standards in patient safety and comfort, infection control and security.
The project will enhance and sustain the hospital’s capacity to provide safe and excellent quality care, now and into the future.
