This project brings recreation services, community amenities, and both rental and strata housing that will contribute to a growing Burquitlam neighborhood.
The development site includes these components:
- A 55,000-square-foot YMCA with an indoor pool, gym, fitness studios and equipment, multi-purpose space, child minding, a family development centre and other amenities;
- A 3,700-square-foot Community Policing Station;
- A 229-stall underground parkade,
- 1.4 acres of public park space,
- Residential rental and strata towers developed by Concert Properties.
Our Aquatic Commissioning Team closely reviewed and monitored the mechanical installations throughout the construction process to prevent any potential issues and keep to the schedule. They were able to catch the boilers operating at a high firing rate and reprogram them to prevent potential breakdowns.
AME worked with the YMCA to develop a prototype design for their facilities in BC. This project was the first implementation of that prototype design, tailored to the municipalities specific requirements.
